CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS

The BNPP Regional Police will be moving to an online process for individuals who need a criminal record check.  This new process will allow you to request a criminal record check 24 hours a day without having to come to our office. All aspects of the application process, including identity verification and payment, are handled electronically. If no follow-up is required, your completed criminal record check will be emailed to you within 7 business days.

The online criminal record check is only applicable to applicants who reside in the BNPP Regional Police area: Beresford, Nigadoo, Petit-Rocher South, Petit-Rocher, Petit-Rocher North and Pointe-Verte.
If for any reason your criminal record check process is not feasible online, you may apply in person in person, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, between 8:30 am and 11:30 am, and from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  Cash payment only.

ONLINE APPLICATI0NS

For applicants to use the online system:

• You must be a resident of our Jurisdiction
• You must be a resident of Canada for at least one year
• The agency is registered with the online system
• Have proof of your current address.
• Be 18 years of age or older
• Criminal Record Check applications are processed in order of date received

- Only credit card transactions will be accepted on this website.

IN PERSON APPLICATIONS

If you are unable or do not wish to use this online platform, you may attend, in person, the BNPP Regional Police station located at 398 Principale St., Nigadoo, New Brunswick, Tuesdays & Thursdays, from 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.  Cash payment only!  The fees and processing times will remain the same.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

An applicant must provide two (2) current pieces of identification, one of which must be government-issued and include the applicant's name, date of birth, signature (where applicable), photo, and expiry date.

PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

You must provide at least one of the following:

• Driver's license

• New Brunswick identification card

• Passport

• Permanent resident card

• Refugee Protection Claimant Document


NON-PHOTO IDENTIFICATION

• Health insurance card (issued by a province in Canada)

• Birth Certificate

• Citizenship Card (or Citizenship Certificate)

• Confirmation of Permanent Residence

• Work Permit or Study Permit issued by the Government of Canada

• Firearms License for Possession & Acquisition

• Military Service Identification Card



The fees for a criminal record check are as follows: 

Regular employment: 35.00$

Volunteer work: 10.00$

Students: 15.00 $

Adoption (fingerprints required):  No charge

Foster Parent (fingerprints required):  No charge

In the event that fingerprints are required, additional fees will apply. Please contact the BNPP Regional Police administration, 506-542-2668, to schedule an appointment.
